Legal Ombudsman Decisions

The Legal Ombudsman has started publishing selections of decisions it reaches about poor legal service.

The latest list of ten decisions deals with various issues and financial redress orders ranging from a few thousand pounds to more than £40,000. They cover errors by slicitors and, in one case, a direct access barrister. They include missing deadlines or communications issues, such as failing to provide clear and accurate costs information or acting without a client's consent. They cover several practice areas including immigration, conveyancing, family and litigation.
