James Green

James is a solicitor and is the managing director of JG Solicitors Ltd.

He obtained his undergraduate law degree from the University of Sheffield, completed a Masters in Criminal Justice studies at the University of Leeds and obtained his LPC from the College of Law, York.

He was formerly a director of a Leeds firm specialising in personal injury work and was the head of the Industrial disease department for a number of years before setting up JG Solicitors in March 2016.

JG Solicitors was established to provide assistance to clients who have been overcharged by their former solicitors. James has collaborated closely with Mark Carlisle since the inception of JG Solicitors until Checkmylegalfees.com joined the firm in June 2025.

Career highlights have included successfully representing clients through the judicial system to the Court of Appeal in Herbert v H H Law Ltd [2019] EWCA Civ 527 (03 April 2019) and all the way to the UK Supreme Court in the matter of Oakwood Solicitors Ltd v Menzies [2024] UKSC 34 (23 October 2024).

Outside of work, James spends his spare time with his wife and three daughters, and is a keen tennis player.
